John Comments on 9/11 Commission Report

Washington, D.C. - Louisiana Congressman Chris John offered the following comment on the '9/11 Commission Report' released today by the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States.

"I am proud to have voted to create the 9/11 Commission. I believe the information provided in today's report will prove invaluable as we work to protect Louisiana and our nation from future terrorist attacks."

"Our state has unique homeland security needs and if we are truly committed to safety then we must commit resources to safeguarding Louisiana's vital ports, pipelines and public and commercial transportation. That is why I am strongly urging Secretary Ridge and the Department of Homeland Security to select Southeast Louisiana as a location for one of the planned Regional Headquarters."

"The safety of the American people is my top concern. This report makes recommendations that we should pursue immediately - in a bipartisan fashion - to ensure that we are doing all that we can to protect our homeland."
